At the pool, dive sessions provide for coaching in fundamentals and advanced techniques on boards and platforms from 1 to 10 meter. Fundamentals include dry land exercises, such as running, exercising, line ups, as well as dry land diving board training. The advanced skills include fine tuning of current dives and learning new dives with the use of an over the water belt. Frequent rotations during sessions will ensure that each diver gets plenty of time on all boards and with all coaches. The lunch period is lengthy to give athletes a substantial and important rest.
Camp times are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Multi-day camps include a Saturday to enable airfare buyers to capture Saturday-stay-over discounts.
At check-in at the camp's venue, the YMCA Auatic & Family Center, divers pickup camp T-shirt and goody bag, sponsored by Speedo.
During three- and four-day camps, a trip to Wet 'n' Wild water park with Mark Ruiz is included in the fee and adds a lot of fun to the camp.
One-day high school dive clinics are open to all high school students: the fee is $100.
Mark Ruiz private lesson fees: $75 one-hour; $125 two-hours; $175 four-hours.
Camp enrollment is open to all current athlete members of U.S. Diving. Four-day camp fee is $350 and include lunches, day passes to the YMCA Aquatic Center and admission tickets for special activities, such as a trip to Wet 'n' Wild. Divers must directly purchase hotel rooms (See below), transportation, other meals and other entertainment.
To enroll, athletes (and their parents or guardians if the athlete is under 18) must complete, sign and submit the enrollment application and agreements with payment.
Payment by check or money order may accompany enrollment forms or may be made securely online with any major credit card at PayPal.com by sending money to Mark Ruiz's email address (see left column).
